Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Toronto | Boutique Martial Arts Studio in Parkdale

KASA Jiu Jitsu + Art is a small boutique Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) studio in Toronto, designed to be your new happy place — part martial arts dojo, part gym, part playground. Our welcoming studio in Parkdale is a space where you’ll sweat, laugh, and learn techniques that build real-world self-defense skills while improving strength, flexibility, and confidence.

This is fitness with purpose. Every Jiu Jitsu class sharpens your mind, builds resilience, and reminds you how capable you truly are. Known as the “gentle art,” Brazilian Jiu Jitsu focuses on control, leverage, and technique rather than brute strength. Alongside effective grappling skills, students develop patience, compassion, and problem-solving under pressure.

At KASA, you’re never training alone. You’ll join a supportive and tight-knit community that pushes, supports, and celebrates every milestone. Come roll with us — you’ll leave each class feeling stronger, more confident, and energized.

🥋 What Is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a grappling-based martial art that emphasizes technique and leverage over size and strength. The objective is to control an opponent safely and effectively, making BJJ one of the most practical martial arts for self-defense, fitness, and competition.

Kids Jiu Jitsu in Toronto

Children under 16 follow a separate belt system from adults. Rank progression begins with belt stripes, and after earning four stripes, students become eligible for the next belt level.

Each child progresses at their own pace, and belt advancement reflects individual development. We encourage students to focus on enjoying the learning process, gaining valuable physical and mental skills that benefit them both inside and outside the studio.

Our Style & Jiu Jitsu Curriculum

Our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu curriculum in Toronto is structured into two semesters per year and begins with a free trial class, allowing new students to experience our training environment before committing. If it’s a good fit, students may sign up at any time. Our experienced coaches guide beginners through foundational Brazilian Jiu Jitsu techniques while helping more advanced students refine, sharpen, and expand their skill sets. Training at KASA Jiu Jitsu + Art takes place in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment with a strong emphasis on technical Jiu Jitsu, strength and conditioning, and controlled live training. Most classes follow Ontario Jiu Jitsu Association (OJA) rules, which closely align with IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation) standards. During the first week of each month, classes include practical self-defense scenarios. While there are many approaches to self-defense, we emphasize that avoiding confrontation is the most effective strategy. The confidence gained through consistent training improves posture, situational awareness, and a de-escalation mindset, helping reduce the likelihood of being targeted.
